#14 More Web 2.0 tools

Looked at the winners of 2007 Web 2.0 Awards and noticed some familiar names: Technorati, Library Thing and Flickr...

On the 43 Things site, I tried the link to Learn to Cook but found it very disappointing. The Pandora site was a dead end; licencing restraints now limit access to US listeners only. Continued my exploration on other sites with better results.

#13 Technology

Looked at 7 Things You Should Know About ... for Podcasting, preparing myself for #17, and then reminded myself about RSS feeds.

# 12 Zoho Writer

Zoho Writer is easy to use and friendly. A simple test, finding the £ symbol, was straightforward. This has been a challenge when using other software in the past. Played a little, changing the background colour, font size etc. and now would not hesitate to suggest it as an alternative to our users.

# 10 & # 11 Flickr

A cornucopia of images, a wonderful collaborative resource and an important reminder to always have plans for travel in the future.

# 8 & # 9 Del.icio.us and Technorati

SLV chat sessions have been a very positive introduction to Del.icio.us. The site is a useful backup for the range of enquiries we are likely to receive.

Tested Technorati by searching for my blog and a friend's blog and found both of them. Will not be claiming my blog.

LibraryThing looks interesting but will stay on hold until I have more time to dip into it.

# 6 & # 7 RSS Feeds

At first, establishing RSS feeds seemed quite a challenging task. The breakthrough came when I successfully subscribed to the RSS feed for the Art Newspaper and then to the Arts section of The Australian. Having mastered the concept, the possibilities are boundless.
